Well, well, well - BA seems to disagree with CB's #27 ranking and SEC coaches for #6 in the SEC West

"This season? Led by a freshman who has pitched like anything but so far, the Bulldogs’ staff has championship potential."

I expected JT to do what he is doing, but not out of the gate and it is largely due to his command of two devastating pitches. You see a lot of movement from pitchers all of the time but I can’t remember that type of sharp late downward movement at 92/93 mph. He is special.

JT is like a hard throwing Greg Maddux

That's a very good comparison. Although- urban legend is Maddux could throw a lot harder than he did.

Maddux was very effortless so I could believe that. Hopefully J.T. Can do like Brantley was talking about and learn to pitch without as much effort while keeping his velocity.

Yeah Maddux was in low 90s early on.

Ginn is a Friday night guy for just about anyone in the country except us. And maybe only us.

Nice to see that we've finally recovered from all the tattered arms left by Wes Johnson.

Foxhall deserves a lot of credit too.

I see your point, but from a stuff/style standpoint he's actually a lot like Kevin Brown, Michael Fulmer, or Rick Porcello.

Maddux was a command, movement, and change speeds type. Ginn is throws medicine balls to home plate at 94 mph and complements those with a wipe out slider. Very Kevin Brown/Fulmer/Porcello like

I like he's not as violent as Brown but his stuff is similar at this stage.

Agree, it's not a perfect comparison, but they style of pitcher Ginn is & the way he does & will collect outs in the future is similar to Brown

Power sinkers

What he does to Josh Jung in this video is straight crime. Jung is a top 3 hitter in America and he makes him look like a child

Power sinkers at 94-95 mph are above hitting competency level of college players.

Yeah he totally overmatched him. He will pitch better in bigger games. He just has it.

What impressed me looking at him from that angle was how late the break is on his slider. Has to be really hard for a hitter to ID that.
