To add insult to injury from our woes of watching our SEC West rivals knock of good teams just 1-2 years after scraping the bottom of the conference - Auburn is the primary sponsor of the NASCAR #1 car driven by Jamie McMurray...and he just won Talledega.

NASCAR sponsorship is big time money. Especially when you are the primary sponsor for a car. Auburn has more money than they know what to do with.

Yeah, there is no telling what AU paid for that one-race primary spot on McMurray's ride today. Primary sponsorships on the Cup circuit are probably $20-25 mil a year, and maybe more depending on the driver. I have no idea what a single race sponsor may have to dish out but a wild guess would probably be around a million or close to it anyway.
