That February fishing checklist

Yesterday I got my rods and reels organized, cleaned, and spooled. I established my starting 4 spinning setups and my guest fleet. Only really interesting note there is I have two 13 Fishing spinning LTE reels that I can?t put away. My spinners I use are 2 Shimano stradics and the 2 el cheapo $49 at Dicks reels. 2 summers ago I bought 1 and liked how it felt so much I bought a second. I thought even if these only last me a year it?s a win because I liked how smooth it was. Fast forward they?re going on to their 3rd summer fishing saltwater only. I did the cleaning last year and sent it to a pro this year (Sea2Swamp), and they still feel great. Probably the best value reels I?ve owned lately. If you want some beater reels, there you go

Next on the list is my boat tinkering. My little plastic boat that is. The only things I have left before I feel totally there are 2 ram tubes on the back, a 2nd anchor trolley, and buy a donkey leash (cull device). The biggest kayak tournament in MS last year is on the Coast again April 27th so I got to be hitting on all cylinders by them.

Last but not least I?d tackle organization. Right now, my shit is a hot mess. I?ve got a freshwater bag and a saltwater bag and then I have crap spread everywhere. I?m gettinh anxiety just thinking about it.

We?re almost there! I feel like we?re on the brink of bass spawn with panfish right behind them and then inshore salt gets to my favorite time of the year.

Impressive Beast. Here in North Mississippi, we are all preparing for Crappie. When the water gets back to normal levels and with this mild February, the spawn will be happening in 1-2 weeks. From various reports, anything North of the Ross Barnett should be around March 10th. The only issue I have is that it does compete with Turkey Season....and the Boss Lady can get a little pissed when I hunt and fish on the same weekend.

I’m dying to get this thing going. I’ve fished 2 days this month. The last 2 days were perfect and I was absolutely slammed. I really wanted to give myself a day off but it wasn’t in the cards. Typical. The sticker was from a guy on twitter. MSU history of something like that. I dm’d him if he could find me some and did.

A little more tinkering today. The Propel drive has a threaded hole on top of it so I put a ram ball on there then an action camera there. I’m gonna try it out to get better pictures.
