If Nick is not coming back this season do you burn DJ Stewart?s redshirt ? We only played 7 guys last night and the only 2 coming off the bench were Holman and Woodard . It seems like we need another perimeter guy to make a run

We had this discussion the other day and the answer is no to burning Stewart's redshirt.

But since you mentioned making a run, here is our Final 4 run:

vs Uconn: We played 7 guys. All 5 starters played 32 minutes+. Whit played 12 off the bench, Bart played only 6.
vs Cincy: we played 8 but Bart only played 5 minutes
vs Syracuse: We played 8 but Bart played 5 and Tyrone only 4.

So a 7 man rotation is fine. we are playing Holman and Woodard double digit minutes so we are actually getting more rest than our Final 4 team did.

I agree we could probably get by with 7 . It does make for interesting substitution patterns since Holman and Woodard aren’t necessarily true perimeter guys . One thing it does make us is longer as we will have more length on the floor throughout a game . Feazell is serviceable if needed as well

Feazell didn't play any last night because he was sick. He's the 8th man 5-8min/gm Guy.

What happened to my boy Nick Singleton? He didn't return for his senior season?

I can't imagine any scenario where it would make sense at this point in the season to burn his redshirt. Without any game time experience at this level, playing him at all would be throwing him to the wolves and setting him and the team up for a confidence hit.

I heard Nick will be back next game.

You can still practice while suspended, just can't play. He never stopped practicing with the team

I think DJ has a foot injury . Burning RS may be mute anyway. Nick is not coming back, most likely.

When you say not coming back are you referring to this year or at all?

We seem to know he didn't violate NCAA Rules. He didn't do anything criminal. And Moultrie knee carries a 3 game sentence by the school. So it appears to be some sort of academic issue or NCAA failed test which creates a 50% of season suspension on the first offense.

Some are pretty sure not this year, next year up in the air.
