I did think it was funny... the FB post has been removed, however...
In my experiences, most Marines have an excellent sense of humor...

The quotes were great. I like the rifle too. Once again the Corps shows it takes small arms marksmanship far more serious than my Army leaders do.

I won't speak for McCain, because has a better grasp on "today's Marine" than I... But when my old(er) ass was in I recall: Marksmanship & the Uniform (discipline) being a really big deal.
Can one of you web-brainiacs find original FB posts/quotes?

The Corps still focuses on discipline. Marksmanship and inspections are still tools used to teach that discipline. The language has changed a little, but marines are still marines
