It's a slow Friday, no decent games to watch, so I thought I'd broach a subject that might be one of the dumber subjects ever on the board. But, here goes:
The cowbells we use are presumably made of steel, and have a clanking or clattering sound rather than a "ringing" sound and are really not a high-craftsmanship product.
I wonder what they would sound like if bell bronze were used instead of steel. I'll bet they would be a lot louder, and probably a lot more expensive, but maybe not as expensive as the Battle Bells. Of course, bell bronze might require sand mold casting and subsequent hand work, so they might be really expensive. I don't know if it can be shaped from sheet stock and welded or not.
