Unless UCF loses twice and Louisville doesn't lose again, UCF will play in a BCS bowl this season as champions of the AAC, which is the successor to the Big East and thus inherited its autobid.

Perhaps, but that doesn't change the fact that the AAC (formerly called the Big East) is an auto-bid league, so UCF will go to the Orange Bowl (probably) unless it loses twice in the conference.

The rules about automatic bids haven't changed this year. All 6 AQ conference champions go to BCS bowls, even if they're unranked like Wisconsin last year or Connecticut a few years back. Fresno state will qualify if they're in the top 12, or in the top 16 and higher than an AQ champion. And UCF will qualify completely separate by winning their AQ conference.

First off, I'm pretty sure UCF will be in a BCS bowl this year, Dawg61. Unless they lose their Championship game.

Secondly, I agree that Golden is a good coach, but no way can you put him ahead of Jimbo right now. And I have no problem putting o'Leary ahead of Muschamp right now. Look at it this way....what is harder to do, go to a BCS game at UCF or miss a bowl game at Florida in this year's SEC East?

I agree. Especially with Orlando's growth, they could be a formidable program in the next decade. Wouldn't surprise me if the Big 12 came calling.
