It’s just a title. DeRutyer is still the DC and calling the defense. Now if he gets hired somewhere else, Wilcox may promote Sirmon to DC (they are very tight and have a history together) but that’s not the case right now.

Wilcox is a defensive guy, so probably not that big of a deal. I'm assuming cal's defense is Wilcox's baby. Kinda like huff was our "OC"
