Off topic but I am looking for some guidance in dealing with VAT taxes in the UK. Does anyone know about it or know someone who does?

Thanks

All I know is that if you are visiting there you can get the VAT refunded when you leave, but it takes a lot of paperwork. I've never bothered.

only worth it if you are buying a lrage ticket item, $1000 or so.

Not " a lot of paperwork", but you do have to get the form when you buy the item. You get the tax back at the airport. Plan ahead, the VAT refunds lines can be long and slow (and they have motivation to not rush)
