This ain?t the 95-96 Final Four team, but we might get a 6 seed in the NIT. Holy crap what a deflating loss. Man that was bad. 2019 is early , but man it has been bad for MSU athletics.

This team better find some balls and a leader, because we have neither at the moment... Cry and bitch at the fans all you want all season but we were there today and it was rocking! We need a leader! We wilt in big moments and Kermit shoved that shit straight into Howlands face!

Was that team lazy, selfish, and played poor defense like this one?

Dontae was. Then the light came on for him and our team took off.

Had more to do with Richard Williams stubbornness of playing Whit Hughes over Jones until Williams couldn’t sit Jones anymore.

I see more than one player on this team with the characteristics I described.

Lot of season left. Very disappointing start, but I'm not ready to give up on this team yet. Howland sees the problems. I expect him to make some changes before our next game.

Coach Williams probably took it too far but he had to reign in Dontae some. He was used to being a one man show and needed to learn how to play with other good players.
He also was probably still tired from all the late night studying he had to do to get eligible.

E. Dampier in the middle had a little to do with it.

What changes you thinking?

The '95-'96 team had Richard Williams at HC. And he didn't give Dontae significant minutes until he decided to play some defense

I'm thinking more minutes for NickW at PG to show a message to current PG.

Nick's selfish and lazy a good bit too. He got hyped a good bit last year (with good reason at the time) and it seems to have gone to his head.

Bullcrap. If we had 5 like Nick, we would have won today and USC by 20 each.

He sees the issues every game and most of our issues are on the defensive end. Both fours that average less then 10 ppg for South Carolina and Ole Miss had 25 and 26 points reactively. We have to sit Holman or shake up the starting five someway. Every four is having a career night against us we have played so far in the SEC. It’s embarrassing.

Nick isn’t the issue. Q and Peters are on the offensive end and Holman on the defensive end. Also Woodard needs to play a ton more minutes. He’s earned it.

Carter did a decent job at the point as well. 11 assists on 30 made baskets tells you how selfish we are playing.

What? Whit didn't start over dontae.

During that run of shit from the beginning until mid conference season he got more minutes then Jones. Only when Jones started playing lights out did he adjust Whit’s playing time. But it was one of the reasons we struggled during conference season.

Dontae started from day 1. Some of y'all have poor memories. Now, we didn't start winning until dontae half ass started playing d. But his offense is what kept him on the floor.

lol- no kidding. Dontae played a ton all year and it took time to gel and him to play some D. But hell, the team had been in the Sweet 16 the year before- Dontae gets way too much credit- he became a starter for a Sweet 16 team that returned 4 starters. Everybody knew we would be good and we didnt take off until Dontae bought in

We had 8!players that played. Whit didn't avg more than dontae. Maybe had more in a game but Whit was not playing more than dontae. Just wrong.

We didn't return 4 starters from 95 to the 96 team.

I think 3 is the correct answer. Darryl, eric and Russell Marcus took over for tj and dontae took over for Marcus g.

Donte Jones and Eric Dampier aren't walking through the tunnel this year.
