That's the Kermit Davis effect. He is very disciplined and demands perfection. Much like Saban does.

i keep trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but we are not well coached at all.

It's rare these days to have a significant talent advantage over your opponent so a lot of game are decided by execution and fundamentals. And we are consistently below average at both and it shows up. Lots of times we have enough talent gap to edge some games out or we shoot really well from 3, but it's been a recurring problem in SEC games or tougher OOC games the past few years.

If we lose this game it's simply because they executed better than we did for a lot of the game.

Both teams played hard. The difference in the game was Nick getting called for that block and technical. And then Q not getting the call on the "and one". So there you go. Nick being off the court for about 8 straight game minutes really changed the game.

They have to ask themselves, if they want to go to the tourney or not. Right now, we look like a top 25 team, but do not have the intensity and killer instinct to close out the game.

When we were down 7 late, we were still casually dribbling the ball up court and not getting into offensive sets until around 15 seconds left on shot clock. Once again no urgency or really acting like they wanted to win.

A) I don't think we are that much more talented than OM from today's game. And teams like Duke & Nova etc are in another stratosphere. We don't have enough length at G. Not enough toughness down low.
B) Howland does need to figure out how to reign some egos in. Howland's scars from UCLA probably are holding him back a good bit.

Yep. It's his job to fix it. Buck stops with him. They are capable. When they move the ball around they are very effective. That should be shown to them over and over on film. If they don't change, then there should be a lineup change. Defense is just about effort. Always has been.

This is the first game I have watched start to finish since the Cincy game and that is what stands out most to me. We play when we want to not all the time.

A great coach once told me everything you see on gamedays are either taught, or allowed. Yall tell me which one it is with Howland
