No lie. I just texted my Auburn buddy and said damn nice job keeping Brown that's huge. His response was one word: bagman

I?ve often wondered what our DLine would?ve been like this year had Mullen closed the deal on Brown and Davis...adding those two with Simmons and Sweat along with the rest of our DL would?ve been something very special.

In reality, Brown had a little bit of a down year & with a stacked DT tackle, likely stands to make a ton of money with a better year & less competition at his position in the draft

We never were really in it with Brown.

He is not Simmons caliber but he was talked about in the same breath. Did not see it on the field but still a really good player

He is a second round player in this loaded DL class, next year probably a first rounder.

It’s the right decision, but surprising.

That's wild... I've seen that cat projected as the #2 DT and going as high as #4 overall...

My buddy later followed up and said Brown is reported to possibly have an injury that would require to be limited or completely miss the combine this year. Not sure how true that is but in a DL class like this being limited during the show off period would not be good.

That makes sense... Bammer's got a couple that fall into a similar category of: High Potential Pick, but Injured...

This is not true. His family wanted him to go to State. Auburn literally brought bags of cash to his highschool.

We weren't in his final 3. His parents may have wanted him at MSU but Derrick never really considered MSU.
