Anyone that says we don't get respect at espn should be shot on sight. No way in hell are we the #8 team in the country.

Kentucky beat 4 of the ranked teams, and yet, unranked

Having 4-10 invalidates that poll alltogether.

I think that formula shows how dysfunctional we were. Our defensive stats were obviously great. And we dominated a lot of weak teams on offense. But couldn't do anything. Against pretty good defenses. I think their formula just has a hole for a team like us apparently.

It's not that crazy - had our WRs been able to catch balls in the end zone that hit them in the hands while open, we're 10-3 and likely headed for a top 10 ranking in the final poll.

That's the difference in 2 plays out of the the hundreds we ran in the season, 2 plays where Moorhead made a good call and Fitzgerald made a good throw.

Isn't FPI a computer formula? If so that doesn't mean ESPN likes us subjectively. It does maybe show how off they are subjectively though.

Unfortunately our defense wasn't the Chicago bears that score about once a game

Yes. It is not a poll. It is a performance indicator based on statistics. It is designed to pick future winners of games not to determine what you deserve to be ranked based on wins and losses. In fact it supposedly does not look at wins or losses at all.

It's flawed, bad. Before the season, I'm pretty sure it had us favored in 10 games. Seems it is still using some of the data used preseason

So based on the numbers, we're the 8th best team in the country, and we will finish with 5 losses and possibly outside the top 25. Great.
