was fired from the Dispatch today. Baffling to say the least, because I thought he always did a fantastic job. Dispatch will not get another read or click from me.

I’d drop my subscription if I had one. He was good.

You never know why people get fired. His job performance could have been the least of the issue.

I don't want to speculate, but you just never know why people get let go. He could've been dishonest, a pain to deal with, ticked off the wrong person, been bad at his job, etc. You just never know.

He said on his twitter that they thought his job performance was "not good enough."

Idk if that's the real reason or not. Based on the backlash they're getting on Twitter, I don't believe that to be true because people loved Brett

I don't believe that for a second. He was the best beat guy by a mile. No way that's the reason

Man, I’ve had to let some really strong performers go over the years. I have no idea what happened in this situation , but your post struck home with me.

Maybe they said that to avoid litigation

I'm just throwing it out there. If they don't hire a replacement soon, that could be it. Or maybe somebody's niece just graduated from ole miss and needs a job. Could be a million things, but I can't believe it was his job performance.
