....would love if we could go back there, but no chance. El Paso area has a lot of fun things to do if you like outdoors type activities. Pitt vs Stanford should be an interesting matchup. This is one of the coolest stadiums in that it is basically cut right out of a mountain side canyon near UTEP.

From the 1950’s-late 80’s the Sun Bowl was one of the “next tier” bowl games along with the Gator behind the NYD bowls(Orange, Sugar, Rose, Cotton). I wouldn’t mind the SEC dropping the Liberty(Big 12 opponent) or Belk(ACC opponent) and picking up the Sun vs a PAC 12 team.

I say drop the Belk and Birmingham or Shreveport altogether. ACC teams just don't excite me much.....and.....pick up the Sun Bowl and Las Vegas Bowl. Give us two good west area games vs PAC 10 or a real good Mountain West team like Boise or Wyoming, etc. Keep the Liberty.....they are now a Big 12 vs SEC and they love us.


Trivia......What 2 MSU QBs were featured in MSU's only 2 trips to the Sun Bowl? We won one game and lost the other.

Felker and Bond

Excellent. Felker beat UNC and Bond lost to Nebraska. And that was when Nebraska was a monster program. Osborne was coach and they broke our backs on a Statue of Liberty play for a TD I think?? They had a very hard time running on us.
