View Full Version : So Oklahoma wins the toss and defers ???

If you're noted nationally with the #1 offense and a crap-ass defense, why don't you guarantee to give yourself the ball first so that you can maybe play the game from ahead? Don't understand deferring the kick to the 2nd half.

Yep, any other team and it's a fumble that stands. Against Bama, elbow is down even though you really can't see the ball. This gets back to how the refs initially "called" the play, which was a fumble. No video could definitely show that it was NOT a fumble, but again, it's Bama so REC doing work.

The call on the field was a fumble. No angle should have been able to provide evidence to overturn. But again, it's Bama so they get the favorable call.

It wasn't a fumble. He was down. The problem is you have no video evidence to say it wasn't a fumble. Common sense says it wasn't, but the rule doesn't mention common sense

Exactly. Had the refs initially ruled "no fumble," Oklahoma would not have been able to get it overturned to a fumble. But by ruling it a fumble, the refs and video replay should have to show concrete proof that the RB was down before the ball came loose, but there was not a video angle of that. Should have gone Oklahoma's way.
