The hit earlier was clear targeting, but at a certain point how do you not to some degree lead with your helmet? That rule is not completely logical for all circumstances. Also, so many times the ball carrier is falling into a helmet to helmet hit when the tackler is already committed.

That rule needs to go. If you play the game you have to accept a certain amount of risk. It's supposed to be a violent game.

I am amazed that Greg McElroy can give a 10 minute soliloquy about how the Iowa State LB committed a targeting foul by the letter of the law, and the officials are right. But, never says a word about the Bama officiating gifts.

I'm with you... Cat is super smart and I believe he's pretty fair, as well....

His show with Spears (TOL) can be goofy, at times, but it's an all around decent SECentric show, IMO....

That last challenge by the ISU coach may hurt them, since they now have no time outs. But, I have to say I like Campbell's attitude.

Campbell is the real deal. He has put together a very solid, organized football program in a short amount of time.

His name is being circulated relative to bigger college programs as well as the NFL (Cleveland...he's a native Ohioan).

Personally I hope he stays at Iowa State and continues to build them up. Iowa plays Iowa State annually, and the better they are the stronger our strength of schedule will be. And, win or lose, you always want to compete against good teams so you know where you stand.
