Shaquon Anderson Butts?

Looks like a guy they recruited at Penn State.

Not sure I completely understand this one, but I trust this staff

From his size he could potentially play RB, WR,or DB

Good looking player. Kind of another J Jones type that can play on either side. Athletic & isn't afraid to thump

If he was in the '19 class, he'd be the 13th highest rated guy in the class. It doesn't take much underrating at all for me to buy that he has a PSU offer, or 5+ P5 offers.

EDIT: OK 247 just completely changed his profile. Shows only us and Iowa state as offering, and took away his rating entirely (he was a .8763 iirc)

That was his high school rank. They made a JUCO profile

Rated 4 star player out of HS. UA All American.....I'll take him.

Heard on Reddit that he committed to PSU but didn't qualify. So we know he was considered a blue blood level athlete. They've been having pretty solid classes these last few years so I doubt he isn't the part. Hopefully he's the net Abram

Not saying he?s that level, but he looks like Amari Cooper. Knows how to use his body to get position and plays the ball well. Looks like a hammer on defense too. Looks like a really good get. Was a top 300 at one point. New names, new names. Hang on.

It's not the same ol same ol recruiting. This staff has changed things dramatically and it's only going to get better. A new era!

That's a great point

One thing about this staff is that they don't give away spots. I look for us to have more depth than ever before in a few years because they are going to sign 85 D1 caliber football players that can run and are athletic.

I just think back to the Coker Wright kid. Nothing against Coker, but under Hev he's a dawg right now.

I just think this staff isn't afraid to put forth the effort to search the entire country for a high 3 star type player that they really like

Good call.

Watching his video again & I'm impressed by his feet & acceleration for a pretty big guy.

This dude could be a steal

Watch when he breaks one down the sideline in this video. The Cooper comparison is pretty good (obviously within limits)

I believe there is a reason this staff took this commitment so early.

FWIW, it looks to me like every WR or running back this staff has taken has light, quick feet. It's the biggest noticeable difference than what we were recruiting before. It could also be the reason that some of our more highly touted WRs on our roster maybe aren't liked as much by this staff.

Yeah, not many have the separation speed Cooper has. But it’s how he sets up defenders and plays the ball that gets him those chances to run by them. But I’d settle for the Mingo comparison.

I liked his defensive plays - looks like he could be a really nice safety. Quick burst to the ball and not afraid to hit somebody

Looks like we are going to fill previous recruiting holes with guys like this and Walker for the time being. It should help Joe establish his program more quickly. Getting three years of a former four star Under Armour All-American? Yes please.

The biggest difference I've noticed is they aren't neglecting any position group like Dan sometimes tended to do. That's how you end up with a team of juniors and seniors every year- which is critical if you are a "developmental" program.

We didn't recruit WR's very well under Billy Gonzalez. The best one we reeled in was Fred Ross- and that was in large part because of Les Koenning.

I don't agree. This guy is a tremendous athlete that could possibly play WR or safety. Next year we lose Guidry, Deddrick Thomas, Mixon and Dear and then at safety we lose Cole and Landrews. Odds are high that because of his versatility he will help us out somewhere. Add him in with Heath and Patterson at WR and all of a sudden that position is a point of strength for us by 2020.

Not to thread hijack but I'd take DeRunnya Wilson over Fred Ross all day every day. Bear was a beast and could lay people out when he blocked. I like that this new staff has extended our recruiting territory. We are getting commits from players in Pennsylvania now. That almost never happened with Mullen. You guys remember when we had the 3rd shortest recruiting distance per signee in the nation under Mullen. Avg signee lived 170 miles from campus I believe is what it was.

This guy is a great get and exactly the kind of JUCO player we should be after. Extremely versatile and fill a variety of holes wherever we need him. I also agree, give me UA 4 star All-Americans all week and twice on Sunday.
