What are the facts of where and how they were found? What I mean is this, are these naturally wild deer, or are they escaped pin deer? Have they investigated any breeders that are near by? It just seems very hard to accept the face value here as “random”. I do believe that there is or are other factors involved that are not known.

The two in the delta have the genetics of native deer, Ponotoc is believed to have originated from a deer that was brought in from out of state, processed and the remains dumped. No clue on the Marshall co deer; however, west tennessee has 10 positive cases. 7 in Fayette co and 3 in Hardamen co.

I expect to see a lot more of these positive tests with more counties and states testing now.

Like I said in an older cwd post, it’s about to explode. Especially since MS hasn’t banned all feeding.

Your right, it's going to explode and feeding is a major cause! Ms has been testing since 2003ish but mostly on mgmt areas, high fence and dmap clubs. Private land was voluntary. My guess is Mississippi will have 10 to 15 cases by the end of season. It will only get worse.

I think 10-15 cases would be good news

The fact that the 4 cases so far are spread out like they are is whats disturbing to me.

We all have been talking at the camp, and believe that corn dumping along with other items like rice bran will be completely outlawed. That will include troughs too. It will be sling feeders only. Even though it is not illegal to dump corn, it is illegally to hunt over it.
