Awesome for him & opens up a spot for Tony Hughes as either the TE coach or the special teams coach, if we move Joey Jones to TE.

Good for him, I hope he does well and is able to retire from there.

If true I'd be on the phone with Hughes ASAP. Good coach and recruiter replaced by another good coach and recruiter.

Can you break down how Peterson compares to Hughes?

Also, due to who Mingo plays for, would Peterson being the TE coach help with Mingo?

This is the funniest thing I have seen in awhile. Are you drunk?

Maybe new coach will be able to spot a fumble and tell JoeMo to challenge it.

If Brad slides into the TE role which I am okay with, who is likely to fill his position Hughes? Or does he still value being an on field coach?

Nope dead serious. Peterson >Hughes.

Brad is one the main reasons our in starw recruiting has gotten better.

He is a hell of a offensive minded coach and truly understands the game.

He could be a future HC at State

Don’t be surprised and everyone don’t freak the **** out if this name comes up and gets hired for the job
Reno Ferri currently at Syracuse. Would be a very good hire.

Isn't Syracuse where Ravian Pierce went?

Wow, he's a West Point grad.

"A veteran coach with strong recruiting ties to New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia, Reno Ferri is in his third year with the Orange. He was named tight ends coach by Dino Babers in January 2016 and began overseeing the inside receivers in 2018."

Hud isn't the only coach that's going to be leaving. Or at least I was told there'd likely be 2. Everybody knew Hud would be one. Peterson makes sense. Hughes is pretty much done I believe.
Ari's guy is a Jo kina move though. We'll see.

I don't freak out over assistant coach hires, but how in the heck do you come up with an assistant from up in that far corner of the world? If I want to hide....I go to Montana, the Dakotas, Northern Minnesota or Wisconsin, or upstate New York where there seemingly is always 5' of snow and -20 or -30 degree temps. Nobody comes looking for you in those places!

Pete isn't everybody's favorite among HS coaches in this state. He can, and has rubbed a few the wrong way. Hughes is well liked and respected by all. have never heard a word against him.

Something in Coach Hughes' contract with JSU makes it more profitable for him to wait until after Jan. 1st to take a new job.....

I'm pretty sure it's how the contract is worded. Probably where they won't pay him if he takes another job during the calendar year.

Well he should have had an understanding what would happen Jan 1 if State were smart

Looks like it doesn't matter now.

Or we won't make it "official" until after January 1.
