Highest rated OL recruit since 2003.

This OL class is our best in history potentially. Along with this OL class & Shrader, this is how you get closer to beat Bama.

Solid for LSU, Bama, & UGA.

A difference maker for us

And, if we get Pendley, would could potentially have a Barrett Jones type at center

Hell, we could still have eiland and Reese in 2 years too

No doubt. Get Hall & think everyone has to feel pretty good about how this staff did with this amount of in-state talent.

Can't get them all, but we are going to get a damn good amount of them

What I love about this class is that we're beefing it up on the LOS. OL and DL are both outstanding this year.

You're right, if we want to hang with Bama and LSU, it starts in the trenches, and we're moving towards making that happen.

Now we just need a field judge and back judge and we could totally compete against Bama.

LOL ... I was thinking same thing. Need to add the rest of the crew in there tho. All it takes is one or 2 to make those crucial calls or no calls that turn games.

With our blue collar culture & historical defensive recruiting, if we start landing highly rated OL on a semi-consistent basis, watch the 17 out for MSU

Cross has quicker feet. Dolla has great strength. So it makes more sense that Cross would be the LT with Dolla at RT. We will see how it plays out in a couple of years. Regardless of the semantics, 2 good prospects on the ends.

I agree with you. I think Cross is the prototype at LT with his great feet. Dolla RT will be a dominant run blocker & handle his own pass blocking.

Yeah Eiland and Phillips at tackle, Reese and Story at Guard, and Williams at C is a damn good OL. Champion and Parker are competent backups at tackle and inside respectively.

in '20 though, we'll have to rely on some youth. Eiland and Reese will probably still be here, but Williams, Story, Phillips, and Champion will be gone. Will need a new C, G, T, and a backup T. Dolla Bill, Cross, and Suggs hopefully can combine to solve the OT spot, but the inside is less clear to me.

THIS is what our o-line recruiting should look like every year. At least one four star- I think we have two if you count Cunningham who I believe is a three star composite and a four star per 247. And the rest guys with upside who can project to fill different roles along the o-line- C/G/T. It seemed like more often than not we would get commits from three guys that mostly projected at guard and maybe right tackle.

Sharp, the JUCO player we are getting was named the o-lineman of the year in the MS JUCO association this year so he should help once he is completely healed up.

This class illustrates just how incompetent Hevesy was at o-line recruiting. And I don't see any of his apologists posting in this thread right now. You have to be able to coach AND recruit in this league. And Marcus Johnson has done a tremendous job of both this year.

Just go to 247 and look where Florida is in recruiting. The only reason why they are not lower is because they are Florida. Mullen and his staff cannot recruit or they are too lazy to recruit.

True. You can scheme against the skill positions of opposing defenses. Hard to scheme against a superior line on the other side of the ball.

Looking back at that is crazy. Dear and Gibson haven't lived up to their 4* status. Gray and Rankin were good but JUCO guys. Only leaves you with Peters, Leo and Adams - who have all been solid/great.
