I'm sure USM will be a tough challenge.....Maybe Duke can change the match from football to spelling....

Really Clark?

To be fair though, Louisville looked like it would be better when they did the deal.

That's the system we all have signed up for. While I hate Bama, I don't think they should have to play under different rules than anyone else.

On a good note, their schedule starts to ramp up post 2019

2020 - USC
2021 - Miami
2022 - Texas
2023 - Texas
2028 - ND
2029 - ND

Ours isn't any tougher. Duke would likely be favored over KSU. Duke and KSU were both better than they are now when those games were scheduled.

This

Alabama's biggest advantage that will forever last is that they don't have to play Alabama. Imagine if we could remove that game from our schedule. Imagine how our schedule would look every year

Lol, I was just about to respond with almost the exact same thing, then I scrolled down and saw your post.

When you play in the SEC, even the east now, you don't need a tough OOC schedule to have a tough schedule. The only people who blather on about that are people from conferences that have to beef up their schedule because the conference schedule is weak.

I like to try to call it square too but ... Do you really think Bama worries to much about "fair"? I ain't seeing that they do.

And two years ago they opened with FSU. I don’t get bent out of shape on other teams schedule. It’s a cycle. They’ve played USC, FSU, Louisville, etc.... Their schedule is no different than most other SEC teams.

Imagine what we could do if we operated under the same recruiting rules and game rules too. We probably could kick their ass as often as they would kick ours. Maybe moreso.

The 2019 season has two off weeks as well. Not a Bama thing but a change for next year.

Strength of Schedule:

#1 UGA
#2 Bama
#3 LSU
#4 Miss State
#5 A&M
#6 Michigan
#7 Oklahoma
#8 Mizzou
#9 Auburn
#10 UF

Yeah, I think the SEC is doing just fine on SOS.

Speaking of schedule, and I don't know how the board feels, but I am so over the neutral site week 1 games as an impartial fan. Give me a home and home series all day.

Agree. That is my one complaint with Alabama's schedule strategy is they usually (not always) do their big non-conference game at a neutral site.

I’m cool with a trash OOC sched. We already play Bama, LSU, TAMU, and AU.

Screw making the schedule harder.

100% i would love to play ND in a home and home. USC would be something too.

I want it to be the first weekend in September. Next thing to playing a football game in hell.

Ours isn't any tougher. Duke would likely be favored over KSU. Duke and KSU were both better than they are now when those games were scheduled.

And we still finished with a top 12 strength of schedule. If KSU would have been normal we might have the #1 SOS.

What about years 2024 to 2027? Do they drop back to playing NM State and Citidel....??

I’m wondering how long it’s going to be before we go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Hopefully not much longer... Saban's been lobbying, but there hasn't been much interest from the rest of the league, yet...
