Hurts or Tate. If they don't get either of those they are in serious trouble at the QB position. They don't have a QB on their roster ready to take the reigns.

They need a transfer or JUCO badly.

Beg Stidham to stay . If not we might be seeing our former committ Cord Sandberg

I can't see Hurts going there.

Yes. With our o-line and running game he would be able To complete a pass. He is not a good fit for Gus

I seen it dawg

I don't know. Develope a 17n qb for once. You know, from scratch.

I'm assuming that we released him when Dan left?

This is correct.

The backup Qb Willis fits their offense better than Stidham ever did. Plus they signed and redshirted Gatewood that's a 4 star guy. The Auburn offense is 8th grade level football. It doesn't require a genius to run it only a runner with decent passing ability.

No half-intelligent Auburn fan I know actually thinks Willis is a capable QB. Confidence that Gatewood is ready next year is extremely low. They are in trouble next year without someone different coming through that door. They don't have time to break someone inexperienced in, they start losing early and the Gus Bus will officially be in the ditch and he'll be in the unemployment line.

The offense is 8th grade. The incumbent true Freshman Bo Nix could run their offense. He's probably more developed being his father played and coached college.

That's the problem with coaches who come from High Schools. Look at Freeze. How many QB's did he developed? They might have some gimmick offense that works for a few years and then the bottom drops off for them. Coaches who work their way up from Grad Assistants to head coaches understand you have to recruit QB's and develop them. Maybe the lack of college experience keeps them from being able to do it. Gus will be gone from Auburn after next season.

So Gus's job is potentially riding on a true freshman coming in and leading them to 8-9 wins with a schedule that includes Oregon, @A&M, State, @Florida, @LSU, Georgia and Alabama. What could possibly go wrong?**

He’s a grad transfer, Saban has no say. I don’t think Hurts goes to Auburn but it will be his choice

He may not have a "say" but you have to think he'll have a big influence on Hurts' decision.

They're an extremely young team this year. The majority of their team comes back.

If they roll with their current group of QBs I'll put all my V cash on Auburn winning no more than 7 games and Gus being fired at the end of the year.

If Gus had come in and started developing QB's from the get go he would not be in this shape. You have to give Dan credit for doing it the correct way. We lose Relf and we have Russell and DAk to replace him. We lose Dak and there was Fitz and two other QB's to replace him. We lose Fitz and we have KT plus one really good young guy. Having KB would have been good for recruiting and publicity but having him only year doesn't build the depth you want.

Good point. Gus has not developed a single high school quarterback during his time at Auburn (including as an OC), so no reason to think he will start now.
