Literally every opponent since Michigan has made that joke and it's never been funny. This one might be the quickest to the punch, however.

Really hard to say anything bad about Iowa, Radar is from there. Dated a few girls from there while in the army. And half the state is down here on the coast for the next 2-4 months escaping the dreariness of winter spending all that subsided ethanol money here in our casinos.

Unless I'm sadly mistaken, about 50 or 60 years ago there was a congressman (can't remember if senate or house) from Iowa who made a speech against Daylight Saving Time because the additional hour of daylight messed with their cows' milk production.

Unless I'm sadly mistaken, about 50 or 60 years ago there was a congressman (can't remember if senate or house) from Iowa who made a speech against Daylight Saving Time because the additional hour of daylight messed with their cows' milk production.

I doubt anyone is milking cows in the midwest during daylight hours this time of the year. Sunlight does have an impact on individual cow milk production though!

Probably not ... and we're not on DST right now. But the point was that the guy really thought we were adding an hour of daylight by going to DST, unless he was joking and I don't think he was. It's possible he was from Nebraska, but it was definitely upper Midwest, and really did happen.
