Saw a little blurb on twitter. He said in the SEC it just means more if you have a certain logo on your chest. Bentley was the first person in SEC history to throw for over 500 yards and 5 TDs against a top 5 team. SEC office gave the award to Tua and Shurmur. Bentley did that against the top defense in the country at the time.

Can't argue with him on that.

Comments are not as impactful considering Shurmur was co-recipient

They've got to get Tua that Heisman.

Isn't preference always given to in-conf performance?

I watched the Vandy/UT game.....Shurmur looked like an NFL QB that game. He was incredible. If you look back at Vandy's record, they were surprisingly close to a 8-4 or better team. I think their coach is doing a pretty good job. This is their 2nd bowl in a row and that alone is amazing for Vandy. And to think with just the difference of one or two plays, they beat a playoff team (ND) in South Bend. Even at 6-6, IMO, this was one of the Commodores best all round teams.

I just meant that a guy from Vandy was co-recipient the same week he said "it just means more if there's a certain logo on your chest"

It would also mean more if Clemson didn't play some of the worst offenses in the country. They played two offenses with a pulse and got lit up by both. SC and aTm.

Now if he would have won the game, then maybe. They lost by 21.
