They are pretty much guaranteed a NY6 Bowl. No excuse for us not to be in the Outback. None.

Looks like the committee determined who really won the LSU vs A&M game. #secrefs

We've said that before. Hence the Outback boycot.

The committee really looks at head to head. Tampa it is!!

I agree. I think Outback. If Penn State was #13 I may lean Citrus a little but I think that match-up would be the only thing to get us the Citrus.

Oh, I agree. I can see us getting a royal screwing, but there is no excuse. Our AD and school should pitch a damn fit if it happens.

I doubt any of those will bump LSU down if that what you are referring to. I’ve never seen the CFP committee do that.

Conference champs are automatic NY6 bids

I don't know about this. If Texas wins, is may push Penn State out of the top 12. If that happens, I could see us being match up in the Citrus.

Texas is in the NY6, well them or West Va, and here’s why: if OU wins most likely they are in the CFP, and the Sugar is contractually obligated to take the next highest ranked Big 12 since their champ can’t play there. Penn State is out. I don’t think there is any scenario where they get in. Most likely because of Big 10 rules that keep teams from the same bowl for five years, Northwestern(2015) can’t go to the Outback. This would most likely put Penn State there and NW in the Citrus. The Citrus might would scoff at a UK-NW rematch because they played in the MCB against one another last year. I would think the Outback, ESPN, and both conferences would like a JOMO vs Penn St matchup, but I could see something stupid like the Citrus taking TAMU, and the Outback taking Kentucky.

If you look at the ''bowl selection process'' that they put out, it puts us in the Outback. Period.

Now will that happen?? Prolly not because it makes too much sense

I don't think Texas makes it in unless they win. I don't think they get an automatic bid just because Oklahoma makes the Playoff.

Uh, yes a Big 12 team is locked into the Sugar vs a SEC team. Under the contract in years the Sugar doesn’t host a CFP game it takes the champs of both. If one or both of the champs are unavailable they take the next highest ranked teams from that conference. Examples:2015 #16 Ole Miss vs #13 Okie State and 2016 #7 Oklahoma vs #17 Auburn. Oklahoma(very slim because if they win they are in the CFP and lose they aren’t the Big 12 champs but will still go to the NY6), Texas(if they win the Big 12 or if they lose, OU makes the CFP, and they remained ranked higher than West Va), or West Va(if OU wins and makes the CFP, and WV #16 jumps Texas #14 in the CFP rankings) will be in the Sugar Bowl.

Most likely. Florida, LSU, penn st, and us should be pulling for Memphis.

Penn State will NOT be in a NY6. No possible scenario, unless the CFP committee ranks them above LSU in the final poll which ain’t happening. None. Zero. Zilch.

Good info. Texas at 14 and WV at 16. Texas has to at least be competitive with Oklahoma

Doesn’t matter. Boise State or Fresno St would get UCF’s spot.

Nope because the highest ranked G5 gets an auto bid to a NY6 Bowl.

I think they have to be ranked in the top 20 or 25 to get the NY6. I can't remember the exact cut off.

In the old BCS formula they got an auto bid if they were 16 or higher. All I can find says the highest ranked G5 conference champ. It looks like the G5 team always gets one auto bid, so if they are all unranked the CFP committee chooses the team.

You are correct. My old brain was remembering the old format. I just looked at it and it just says highest ranked group of 5 not in the playoffs.
