Would be cool to play Penn State

I'm sure you're right but Bowl Officials may lobby harder for the matchup folks want to see and/or the crowd that will show up to watch.

Bowls have say so. Not saying this poll will affect the decision, but these bowls aren't just telling the conferences to call with their selection.

It has all SEC Big10 teams, that's the conference match-up.

They did this in 1999. We outvoted Georgia 3-1. They picked Georgia anyway.

Right now it's Mississippi State and Penn State by a humongous margin.

Missouri and Michigan State are very distant 2nds.

Others are not enough to even be worth mentioning.

I think it would be cool to play Penn St. We're also #9 in FPI and they are #8. Might be a good matchup, although IMO we should handle them fairly easily if we show up to play. Who I would really like to play tho is Michigan. I believe we'd smoke them.

I voted for Alabama. I would love to see Bama in the Outback Bowl, not the CFP

Hmmm, don't think online voting was around in 1999 what with internet dial-up and all.

i voted 3 times yesterday & State was at 22% and Mizzou was leading at around 50%. I think Penn/State matchup would get HIGH ratings.

As of now, State has 57% from the SEC and Penn State has 51%. Everyone needs to vote for the sunshine!

Bowls have a list of teams. The SEC places the team they want there unless the contract is for a specific team (like Citrus has). These voting sites are just fan fun. This isn't 1990 anymore. The playoff. bowl tie-ins, and money changed it all.

I voted for Wisconsin. I want to see them try to run on our defense.

I voted for OM & AL. Because them being on the list is ridiculous and just shows how this poll is meaningless.

We've lost 10% with Aggie gaining -- we were at 57% on Saturday. Not getting many Dog fans to visit the site and vote apparently.

I went and voted.

Also looked at the bowl history: since 2000 (19 years), there have been 4 teams from the SEC East play in this game 16 times: UGA (3), TN (3), FL (5), and USCe (5).

The only reason we may have a shot at this game is due to the Penn State connection. If they can't pair us up against the Nittany Lions, we probably won't be going...

They do, but I remember last year it looked like it was down to us and South Carolina in the Outback, and in this same poll South Carolina had something like 70% and we had like 15%.

And it was meaningless then, and meaningless now. You guys can vote but realize it's just for fun. It depends on the tie-ins, CFP rankings, and who the SEC wants us to match up with. We're going to the Outback barring something crazy, just based on the rankings. I suspect we play Mich. St. unless someone knocks PSU out of the top 12. A&M is pretty locked into the Gator.
