The night Mississippi State lost any chance, Bulldogs WR coach Billy Gonzales made a home visit to Brown, called Mullen, and put the head coach on speakerphone. After a few minutes, Brown stood up and walked out, leaving Gonzales as the only audience to Mullen's pitch.

"I've got head coaches from everywhere coming to visit," Brown said, "but Dan Mullen couldn't drive five minutes?"

In my opinion, this was the biggest loss that Mullen ever gave us.

That’s AJ rewriting history. Don’t get sucked into his lies

We weren't ever getting AJ. He wanted to go somewhere he could catch a lot of balls, and neither Bammer nor Mississippi State would get him the ball.

Exactly, for all of Mullen's laziness in recruiting if he had thought he had a nickel's chance to get AJ he would have been there, in person.

AJ was never coming to MSU.

This one definitely wasn't on Mullen. AJ was never coming to MSU no matter how he spins it.

Even if there was a chance of him coming, I don't know if he could have fit in under Mullen. Attitude problems, excessive showboating, tendency to disappear against adversity, tendency to take plays off, etc. aren't characteristics that Mullen typically put up with.

I just find this difficult to believe. Mullen had his problems, but I can't believe he would not even do the home visit and talk on speaker phone. Even he can't be that lazy. That story sounds like some fantasy sob story.

Would’ve been BAMA, but Ole Miss has them red Nike bags.

This right here. If any coach worth a damn thought he had a prayer of getting a highly rated recruit that was in his own town, he would've been there. Mullen was a lazy recruiter, but not that lazy.

So, did AJ turn down visits from Dan? Just wondering.

I get the fact that AJ was never going to come to State, but when that kind of talent is in your backyard, I find it hard to believe that Mullen was sleeping over at the Brown house.

I would love to get Mullen's take on this because it isn't what I heard. I was told Mullen had an in-home with him, met with him several times, and the dude basically lived at the football facility his senior year. I just don't buy this at all.

He was...a whole lot...multiple times a week some weeks he was on campus, at times. Talking with coaches and players.

Well why wouldn’t he commit multiple other violations like that...you know a HC can only met a prospect once off campus, right?

Exactly... and this has been posted, ad nauseum. Who gives a 17 about him. He could be winning titles at Bama or becoming a hometown legend, but instead he went to the highest bidder, one that he could give two sh*ts about.

Yep... just spreading the lies... who is going to challenge him on it? Mullen? nope. F*ck that sh!tbird.

This will be the topic of the game announcers until we start kicking their teeth in. Which shouldn't take long by the way

Who is AJ Brown?

Serious question. The issue according to AJ is that Mullen didn't drive to his house for that particular visit. How many in-home visits is the Head Coach allowed? And did Mullen use his maximum number with AJ?
