We have to keep Bob Shoop NO MATTER WHAT THE PRICE!

I love the way this guy coaches our D. Our players seem to completely understand his scheme, which allows them to play fast. They're rairley out of position, they play hard for him and it looks like they have fun while doing it. I've been ultra impressed with him.

Sorry. You know the rule. We have to change DCs every year.

Haha I hope that's one thing Mullen took with him to Florida.

Funny. He was the main coach ppl on here were worried about. He pretty good when Butch isn't 17'n with his calls!

He’s not leaving unless it’s a huge program or something.

There is something some of you DON'T see. This season he has some of the best talent we've ever had at Starkville.

There's a lot of talent on the O side as well, so it takes coaching too.

True but this same talent was here last year and grantham didn't have em playing this well. Shoop can coach

Really Clark?

Yeah your gonna have to copy posts from those who thought we didn’t have talent on defense. Doesn’t mean Shoop has not done a great job coaching just because it’s a talented defense. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. By that logic Saban also sucks, his defenses are good only because it’s talented.

Yeah I agree. Funny how many of the veteran know it alls here didn't like the hire. You know the ones with all the "sources" that are always wrong? The ones that said Tennessee is laughing at us.

The talent on the offensive side isn't close to what we have on defense.

Grantham basically had the same defense last year, and the secondary was torched time and again.

Let's hope Ohio st cleans their defense up this week for Michigan. I don't want urban calling

The big question for Stoop is recruiting. For me, he is answering that with 5 Four Star commits and maybe 2 more.

Urban may not even be there next year

Doubt that. Possible, but unlikely

This is one of the biggest differences I've seen between Shoop and Graham. When we blitz now, you don't see receivers running wide open down the field.

Hopefully next week we'll actually cover AJ Brown.

Rumors floating around Columbus but I don't think he leaves either.

I've noticed this as well. Huge difference! I guarantee we won't have a lb covering aj one on one Thursday

Wanna bet? If we covered Bama WR's we can definitely cover the blackbear receiving crew.

Yep. It's not like aj hasn't been shutdown by good defenses before. Hell cal shut him down last year.

I checked... we've faced 4 of the sec's top 10 leading receivers (Jeudy, Jefferson, steinberger, and Bowden). Between them all, they have 15 catches 91 yds (6.0 yds rec) 0 td. This is quite impressive. We were #1 passing defense in sec before today in yds/game and passer rating.

Holy crap that's even better than what I thought. That's shutdown coverage.

Shoop Dog is already making $1.2 mill. It?s not like we paying him peanuts.
