Team looks good. Fans didn’t show up. How do we get the fans to come back? Why have they not shown back up? We are up 50-34 at halftime.

Up 50-34 at half. Interior defense a little soft. Shot selection and passing into post much better than last year.

Early season attendance has always been bad. High school football playoffs are keeping some people away.
The athletic department needs to start a program where a season ticket holder gives up their ticket for a game and anyone can walk up and claim the seat. The ticket is already sold and you get an ass in the seat.

28-point win, same as the MSU Women's basketball team tonight.

We played Austin Peay Numnut. We were nearly outrebounded, and 12 turnovers. LP playing like he did at the beginning of the season not the last. He fouled out with 6 points., 1-6 3pts.

Austin Peay is better than people think. They'll challenge for their league title this year. We didn't shoot well and still won by 28. Athletically there will be few teams that can match us. Perry and Woodard are nice looking freshman.

Austin Peay was 19-14 last year and went 12-6 in the OVC. They aren't anything special but they aren't dogshit either.

Still suck at the 3. 26%, 4-15.

Look at the numbers from the exhibition. We'll be fine from 3 this year. No team shoots the lights out every game.

4 of our starters scored in double digits and Carter too. Two of our first off the bench are freshmen. We're better than last year and will get better as the freshmen progress.
Also, just saw that Howland said postgame that they plan to redshirt DJ Stewart.

Hey before you call anyone numnut, maybe you need to look at the most important stats for a point guard...ie...assists and turnovers ...where he had 7-1 ... that's a very nice ratio just so you know ... and in case you didn't watch the game...his on ball defense (which is a big deal) was exceptional. It's ignorant keyboard cowboys like you that are the true numb nuts.

How did Stewart, our talented new freshman look?

Oops.....never mind, just saw above a bit, Steward was a DNP due to being redshirted.

I love it I am surprised DJ agreed to it. Most kids wouldn't I'm hoping he understands it will benefit in the long run.

I was surprised too, but from talking to several coaches after the game, they said he(DJ) was all for it.

Lamar and Nick are playing much more composed and under control.
Reggie and Robert will both contribute.
Aric's shooting touch is much better.
Abdul's free throw shooting was exceptional. As was the rest of the team.
Tyson is much stronger.

Fair. Don't get me wrong, I thought we were a good team last year. My thoughts were we still don't shoot well, still foul too much, and giving up equal rebounds along with 14 offensive rebounds to a much smaller team is concerning to me.

What a breath of fresh air to have a talented freshman actually cool with redshirting. Ain't no Kegler or Newman mindset in Stewart.

Your observations are accurate...we gave up way too many uncontested shots within 10 feet and rebounded poorly. Much of that was a function of a very well coached team that executed their offense very effectively. Another factor was some very suspect officiating...we were called for 27 fouls I think and on 3 occasions the refs didn't know who they blew the whistle on. They actually went to the replay camera to decide who committed what foul...pretty sad.
