Most high school refs move them back. They say it blocks their view of the line. That's the ones on the hash marks, not the corners.

I realize they'd have trouble scheduling schools like Alabama, but they could have scheduled 4 bowl-bound P5 teams, and instead they chose:

South Carolina State (LOL), Florida Atlantic (not a bad mid-major, but still LOL when you're claiming to be CFP quality), North Carolina (3-9 last year and 1-6 so far this year), and Pittsburgh (5-7 last year and probably 5-7 against this year).

I think they could have found 4 P5 teams with a reasonable expectation of making a bowl to do a home-and-home with them, and at least it would have given the Committee some good datapoints to compare them.
