We need to improve our outside shooting and get more from the back up big men

If Q, Carter, and Peters just get all the way back to where they shot in 16-17, we'll be set in that area.

I think so too.

Ref, good to see you back. Maybe I have not seen your post but it seems like you have been away for a bit.

Yeah been dealing with some personal stuff and getting some things figured out. I'll try to get back into the swing of things here. Been missing all of y'all crazy 17ers on here.

According to coach, in his mind our outside shooting has really improved this year. Let's hope so.

Idk how many minutes he'll see but Stewart looks to be a good shooter from 3.

Not sure why everyone seems so high on LSU this year.

Waters. Oh and they added 2 5-stars and 2 4-stars rated 97 and 98. #4 recruiting class

They added two 5* recruits and a 4* that's been the LA POY the last 3 years in a row. Naz is the prize of their class.

Just remember the personal stuff happens to all of us and we understand. Got to take Care of yourself and your own before you can take care of anything and anyone else.

I've said since about midway through last season I believed this had a chance to be our very best team in a long time. If we can keep Peters engaged and get the usual solid contributions from Q, Nick, Aric, and Tyson we're a tournament team easily. Where I think we can have a special season is if we can add in continued development from Ado and get solid minutes from Perry, Woodard, and Stewart.

Woodard is going to play a lot at 6-5 , 235 with a 7’1” span. Can step out & shoot and Howland said the scouts ask about him a lot at practice.

Carter is over 170lbs now, signed at 149 & said to have taken big step forward since March.

Perry also has the body to play immediately which we need badly to get Ado some rest.

That was exactly my first thought as well. Being a pessimist by nature, really hurts my outlook now that Moorhead lost 3 sec games.

Same here. First time in forever I was really this high going into a season in any MSU sport and now, I'll go back to being somewhat hopeful/cautiously optimistic preseason modes. I sure hope Howland does what is expected cause I believe he's a very close to elite coach.

Hell, I'm now fearful of expecting too much of Vic and the ladies going into this season. I know he's a great coach but there are a lot of new pieces that have to mesh together too.

Why? started the year #18 - currently #18.

I would be thrilled to end the year #18 in basketball. That/s a 4 seed.

Don't compare football to basketball. This basketball team is a more rounded team than our football team. Also howland isn't a rookie... he's one of the best

Perry also has the body to play immediately which we need badly to get Ado some rest.

We also have Feazell, EJ and JT to back up Ado. Along with Holman and Perry, we shouldn't have a problem keeping fresh legs in the paint.

Same as before, I'll wait till they play some decent opposition.

Ado received some pub from a national basketball writer yesterday on twitter:

10 Glue Guys To Watch:
Mamadi Diakite, Virginia
Abdul Ado, Mississippi State
Alex Robinson, TCU
David Skara, Clemson
Ed Morrow, Marquette
Marek Dolezaj, Syracuse
Isaiah Jackson, Providence
Rex Pflueger, Notre Dame
Mfiondu Kabengele, FSU
Kaleb Johnson, Georgetown

I assume a "Glue Guy" is a good thing.

I'm thinking Ado will exceed expectations this year. He seemed to be getting better and better as the year went on. He's a very athletic guy and I think he didn't grow up playing basketball.
