UGA is dominating the trenches early.

Tons of empty seats BTW

I think Florida is in big trouble in this game because UGA got their wakeup call vs LSU & UGA is significantly more talented.

Grantham keeps it to a FG. He has been huge for Mullen.

I wonder if we are entering into an era where passing in the SEC is almost impossible unless you have ridiculous talent.

Defensive coordinators have adjusted to the spread offense & now employ defenses that are too fast both in the secondary, at the LB position, & at the DE positions for teams to consistently throw the football.

Perhaps, the cycle has completed & it's now time to reset the chess board by going back to a wishbone/triple option type attack.

I know people don't want to hear that, but football is cyclical.

Other than Bama, who has unreal talent, who the hell in the SEC can throw the football?

Mullen doesn't run a flea flicker like that at MSU for 9 years & then breaks it out at Florida. I mean WTF?

Just like a Mullen QB though, he over threw it

Looks like Mullen was trying to get Smart back for the flea flicker vs us last year

Ta'amu is 3rd in the nation in passing yards.

Yes, but OM can't throw the ball vs defenses with a pulse that have the personnel I was describing in my post.

I'm sure you were smart enough to figure that out on your own though.

Yeah, I loved the call by Mullen. With that said, I Hope Georgia wins by 60.

ShotgunDawg

If UGA throws the ball more than 10 times in this game, Kirby should get a nuggie

Really Clark?

Ta'amu is 3rd in the nation in passing yards.

He is 4th according to what I just pulled up, but thought I saw he was 3rd earlier as well, huh.

Anyway he is also 28th nationally for conference games and 60th nationally vs ranked opponents. He put up 900 total yards vs So IL and Kent State. He is good but inflated numbers.

Mullen got a good chuckle out of that interception. It's just his way of coping with adversity.

I'm still going to be interested to see if Mullen can field a Florida team with more talent than the one he currently has.

I think he'll certainly land QBs that fit his system better, but they've got really good talent everywhere else. Better WRs & OL than Mullen mostly ever recruited at MSU.

Everyone thinks he's going to build something great at Florida, but they didn't have a talent issue. I just wonder if 5 years from now, Florida will essentially look about like they do now but with a more versatile QB

I don't think either one of these teams is all that great. Alabama would beat the crap out of both of them.

His recruiting this year is not much better than ours....that won't pan out in Lizardville.

I'm not sure you are smart enough to know the SEC isn't headed back to 1995 Nebraska football.

I'm not sure you are smart enough to know the SEC isn't headed back to 1995 Nebraska football.

Are you watching this game?

Both these teams would probably be better off with a 1995 Nebraska offense. UGA is running every time & Florida should be

I'm of the belief that football is cyclical. Offenses will always try to find a way to take advantage of the defense's weaknesses & defenses will always counter. That eventually leads to a cycle.

However, you cannot judge that cycle off of what Bama does. Bama can win the natty with any system of their choice.

However, I believe it should be considered that MSU should always be running the offense that is counter to how defenses are built.

10-7 with Florida having 2 turnovers. May be a game but they can’t have any more turnovers

When you blitz you leave a hole in your defense. I wouldn't mind seeing some speed option principles included into our offense but to answer your question I do not believe the SEC is headed back to triple offense days. I think it's headed to quick passing schemes like the Patriots run and RPO Chiefs style offenses. Chiefs still run the ball a lot.

Gotta try one more throw into the end zone with 6 seconds and two timeouts. Really conservative call by Kirby to kick the FG there. Might haunt them later.

I’m good with it. You’ve got to get points there. A stop could swing momentum Florida’s way. 6 seconds is a grey area that has more downside than upside

The previous play only took 3 seconds. I would've tried one more shot but then again I'm just an old guy watching football and don't have my job on the line lol

If Fitz made that same throw our WR would drop it and half this board would be bitching about how Fitz doesn't throw a catchable ball.

Fitz and Dak, I thought made those throws at one time. It seemed as though we never threw to the sides after drunnya left. And it was always those type passing plays, and shorter passes where the receivers would be around the number yard line area. Whatever you call that.

Hate to say it, but that was a great goal line stand by Florida. Georgia doesn't deserve a TD if they can't get it across in 7 plays.
