In 2016 Penn State average 37.8 points a game. (I?m sure some of these are defensive points but I didn?t dig that deep for this)

Now I wanted to compare the PPG to nfl draftees faced in those games.

Penn State played 14 games in 16 and faced 29 draftees.

They played 5 games against teams with no defensive plays drafted and averaged 43.4 points during those games.

Played 9 games against teams with at least 1 defensive player drafted and averaged 34.3 during those games.

Played 8 games with multiple defensive player drafted and averaged 29.5 points in those games.

Played 4 games with 3 or more defensive players drafted and averaged 28 points a game.

Played 3 games with 4 or more defensive players drafted and only averaged 21 points during those games.

Just food for thought.

It follows that any offense will have less success against the better defenses they face. These numbers don't really mean anything to me.

What means something to me is that we are averaging 6.5 points and 201.5 yards of offense in the SEC...against two East teams who weren't supposed to be any danger this year. That is what I know.
