Mullen coming back to town. Huge game. I?ll probably grill for the game. Germanfest Sunday. Should be a fun weekend

My "believer" was damaged last weekend, but I'm holding out hope for tomorrow.

I picked up some really good looking halibut today and decided to try out a Daniel Boulud recipe I've been eyeing...

Crispy paupiettes of halibut:

Halibut wrapped in thin shingles of potato cut on a mandolin, over braised leeks (with sesame seeds and spinach, which was my tweak to the recipe), and a Barolo sauce (shallots, thyme, and port wine, cooked down to a glace and mounted with butter). Pretty damn good.
