View Full Version : Everyone has known for a while what the blueprint is to beat this team. It's not

rocket science. Problem I have is that we should've used that same blueprint to attack Kentucky. We knew they couldn't throw it very much so we should've just overloaded the box. We've got some glaring deficiencies but we've known those all along. Problem is, we haven't made any progression in those areas.

Our OL got dominated every pass play by 1 DE. Our RB got hit in the backfield every inside run play because we couldn't win our 1 on 1 blocks vs their DL. 75% of our yards came from passing.

In am an opposing DC with any level of talent, I would play the deep ball safe and bring 5 every play. No need to stack boxes or bring house blitzes if we can't block 1 good DE or handle the front 4 on a run play. You stack the box against a good run team that struggles to pass; you play it pass safe when playing a team with a bad OL because a big play is the only way they can score. Right now, we have a bad OL and a deep ball to Guidry or Mixon is our only way to score until that's changed
