View Full Version : Rosebowl Say Expect Night Game for Florida

Figures that CBS would take UGA and Tenn just due to the size of the fan bases and Florida?s loss.

Either way, a night game for a Danny Boy will be LIT.

I'd rather have a 2:30 game so I could drive home after it's over. :)

Night games are more fun though. And the way the year's gone so far, Sept 29 will still be 95 degrees in the afternoon.

The 11:00 ga,e is the SEC Nation walk through. 2:30 game time means the walk through is at 12:30

Actually, it would be 12:15. They're doing it 15 minutes earlier now since they moved the dressing room to the north end of the stadium. I suppose it takes 15 minutes longer to get there.

2:30 - 4:30 pm is the ideal start time for college football. And I hoped it would have been on a major network. 6:00 is ok but it makes for a long drive back after the game when having to share the road with people who have had way too much to drink.

I'm about 185 miles away. Used to do it, but it's dangerous with lack of sleep and deer all over the place. I used to do a lot of things when I was younger that I don't do now. :)

Just looked up Lewisburg to see where it is. You have almost as far as I do, but at least you have I-55 most of the way. Mine's not too bad anymore, but the stretch from Columbus to Hamilton, AL, is in the backwoods with lots of wild animals.

Even more dangerous with dealing with drunks on the road. Forgot to add it takes 1-2 hours just to get off campus after a game.

Which makes no sense. Cause they use to walk through the field house down to the other end of the field and back. But whatever.

It was a lot easier to share the road with drunks back when horses were doing the driving.**

Good point. Unless of course, they were given "Beer for my horses, whisky for my men". I read a couple days ago, I think on Quora, that the first ticket for drunk driving was given in England around 1897. Some dude crashed his "horseless carriage".

actually Im 60, but driving late at night after an all day affair on campus is not easy. I have fallen asleep at the wheel on a couple of occasions and almost went into the other oncoming lane. Woke up just in time to swerve back. Three hours each way in one day plus the game activities wears you out! And a lot of people do this besides me. Roads are full of sleep deprived or drunk drivers that time of night.

And I found one of them during the drive down to Starkville about 20 years ago, between Hackleburg and Hamilton. Dogs were chasing a deer, and it jumped right into my right front fender. I just saw a blur, but it pretty much wiped out the right side of my Mitsubishi 3000. About $5000 in damages.

Another time, I was entering metro Detroit (haha) on the way back from Starkville, rounded a curve, and a big buck was standing right in the middle of the road. I had time to stop for that one.

This has been a humorous thread but there's also degrees of pussification as well. Sleep deprivation? Ever tried sunflower seeds and red bull mixed with a 5hr energy drink and coffee? Afraid of deer? shit. Instead of all this grandma talk, I prefer thinking back to a Thur night in the 90's when a QB from the MS Gulf Coast was having dreams of Heismans running thru his head.

I remember it well when my UF Grad boss handed me that $5 bill in the office the next morning. Sweet Times Indeed.

Pit; word of advice. You may have sleep apnea get the sleep study done before you run into the on coming lane and kill somebody.

Unless CBS has changed, they look at almost nothing but the size of the fanbase when making the decision. So UGA/UT trumps MSU/UF, even if UT is a shitshow and its fans are pissed. If UF hadn't lost to UK, us both being ranked and florida having a big fan base might have been enough to trump UGA/UT. Don't think it will be a problem for us now though.

And the Mullen storyline doesn't matter to anybody other than MSU and State, so I doubt that impacts it any.

I don't know, but I just hope they keep doing what they're doing. Reserve that 2:30 spot for the best game of Bama and UGA, then sprinkle in LSU/Auburn and LSU/FLorida and let us always have the espn night games.

If we beat KY and FL I think we can count on our game against Auburn to be the 2:30 game. Not much else in the SEC that day. Auburn losing to LSU probably cost us GameDay.
Last time we played Auburn at 2:30 in Starkville it turned out pretty good so I'm going to try not to complain. It will at least be a little cooler by then.

I really wish CBS and the SEC would just bite the bullet and let CBS show all of Alabama's games so that their fans have to suffer through Gary Danielson's "brilliant" in his own words football knowledge and commentating. That seems like a decent concession prize for the crooked officiating.
