Pretty shocking news here. Makes wonder if something happened?

I'd think they give Yeskie the job or they completely screwed him when we offered him.

Somethings gotta be up with this. Just won a natty, paid your pitching coach to not leave, have a good roster...why not ride it out another year? If you're planning to retire you announce it much earlier (eg not on the cusp of fall practices). Not implying there's a scandal but you've got to figure it's either related to something negative or a health issue.

ETA: just read the article. Sounds like it might be something he's been considering for a while, but still the timing is not ideal.

Go out on top. Sounds like a good plan to me.

That's prolly why we couldn't pet Yesky away. Seems they told him Casey was retiring this summer and he would be head coach in waiting kinda thing.

Making more sense about Yeskie now. We had him just about locked up and then something changed. Now I know what.

This is fantastic news. Enjoy retirement Casey and enjoy coming back to the pack OSU.

Bailey has been named interim coach for 2019. He and Yeskie will both be interviewed for the job. Just weird....

I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with pedogate. It caused a lot of negative attention for OSU.

He may have just wanted to make sure that the next coach comes from within the program. The best way to do that is to wait until the fall to retire. Thankfully Ron Polk didn't realize this.

Pretty odd situation for sure that could cause some problems for them next year.

Like knowing about Luke Heimlich's past when he was recruiting him? Possibly.

Yup and maybe hiding it from OSU initially. I'm just speculating though.

If Ron had retired Tommy would have been interim and would have never gotten the job then either.
