Is the fact that our possessions per game are going to increase this year. We, as fans, need to realize it only makes sense that our defense will get less rest at times and likely give up more points as a result. More possessions for each side means more chances to score for both.
I realize that is basic fundamentals but I haven?t seen anyone talk about it. As great as our defense has the potential to be, I think we need to realize that if our offense is scoring on HR balls, then they could give up a little more points than we, as fans expect or we could force other teams to throw more and thus expose our secondary more. Also more total yards.
Hopefully this means our offense is running like a well oiled machine.
