and if we start off 5-0 it sets up to a most likely top 10 match up against the Barners. Win that one and the season will roll on similar to a 2014 season. Yes I may be putting the cart before the horse but 5-0 is not very far fetched, given the defense we have. We start off 6-0 and we may be looking at the SEC W winner in T-Town again like 2014.

Side note can we go wire to wire ranked the entire season? Not sure that's ever happened for a State football team. Would be nice to see and this team definitely has the talent and experience to do it and handle the prosperity.

I may be the only one here but I believe Bama will have 2 SEC losses this year..

There's at least one guy, every year...

They aren?t going any worse than 11-1 with that schedule. Toughest games are all in Tuscaloosa, unless you think LSU can beat them with Orgeron as their coach (I don?t).

I don't love our schedule at all but nothing we can do about it.

Why not? I think it's pretty good.

2019 may be even better in some ways too. But I want to wait and see if we actually really are playing Abeline Christian before the Egg Bowl in 2019 before I make any proclaimations. I do not trust LT to do what is in our best interests as long as he is in charge of scheduling for the SEC. Especially after the Oklahoma State/Vandy and then South Carolina debacle in 2013.

Dude ... do you really believe the SEC and NCAA are gonna let 2 teams beat Bammer in a single season. Ain't happening.

Outside of playing AU right after FL, it's not too bad. Not as good as 2014's was tho.

AU right after UF is brutal. And ending with Bama, Arkansas, and then Ole Miss on a short week sets up the potential for subpar performances against either Arky or Ole Miss. At LSU and A&M back to back.

Our 4 easiest games are basically the first 4 games of the season except for La Tech.

Unless I'm totally shocked with sub-par performances by us, A&M better get a lot better before they play us. I think we'll be ok on the back end of our schedule. Don't need to sleep on OM tho. LSU later in year isn't as good as 3rd game IMO. Aranda will have a very salty D too.

I like the bye week in between Auburn and LSU a lot. I do wish Florida and Auburn weren’t back to back, but that didn’t hurt us in 2014 with A&M and Auburn back to back. Or in 2000 when we also had Florida and Auburn in consecutive weeks.

I thought about that too. Couple of differences tho. 1) Win, lose, or draw ... FL will most likely be a very emotional high or low. 2) I think FL & AU this year are better than 2014's A&M/AU teams. AU this year is definitely much better on D. So shall FL be I'm a thinking.
