After watching the video some Bama fans will be pleased to learn that they are adding basketball to their athletic department. A few have thought that only having football was a little strange.

No ours didn't face the hard camera. Remember the Courtside student section was opposite the benches. Hard camera has been facing the benches as far as I can remember. Students were behind the broadcast tables.

When the Hump opened in 1974 or 75 as a student I remember sitting behind the benches, but I may be mistaken that was along time ago.

He can deduct $1M from his taxable income, but that's not the same as paying $1M less in taxes.

Raise money?.....hell BAMA can just cut a check for it any time....their only concern is working the construction in around the season schedules. Looks like a 2 year project. And what will that do....raise capacity of Bryant Denny to about 110,000? Coleman Coliseum is already at 15,000.....making it nicer could actually reduce some seats, but probably not by a whole lot. I think they average about 10,000 per game, so losing a few seats wouldn't likely matter much. Ninja walked into a gold mine. Not hard to see why he left Zona so easily.

Pretty sure it?s lowering the capacity of the football stadium

All I want to point out is .. if they put all that glass on the outside of the stadium, they are going to make it unbearable without AC. We all know how hot it is for the first five games.

No, that would be a tax credit. But we can no longer deduct our contributions to the Bulldog Club, so it was a serious point. It may not be deductible for him, but I'm sure he and his tax accountants can find a way to do it.

Basketball arena looks like a bad ass version of Hinkle Fieldhouse (Butler's Arena and the Hoosiers movie arena)

My understanding is that Brian Denney Stadium will decrease from ~103k to <100k.

Don’t know the final numbers.

The whole project is 600 million they have raised around 143.
It's a 10 year plan. Football work will start after the 2019 season.
It will actually lower capacity, likely under 100k. Premium Seats are more valuable with attendance declining nation wide.
Coleman will have a capacity of around 10k, which is 4k less. it will be reduced even more in a gymnastics layout. The work will be done after the 21-22 season and will cost $115 million by itself.

No way it will be glass. More likely to be a breathable mesh I would guess from looking at the video more.

Kept waiting for Daniel Day Lewis to show up but I remembered he's a State fan not a Bama fan.

How can you tell about liquor and draft beer? I didn't see anything in the picture.

They always had a few vacant seats in the upper reaches, plus at least some of the students sat (stood) there and they had a hard time getting them to stay through the game. So they're just taking some of their seating away.

OK, thanks ... hadn't watched the video. Hard to believe the state of Alabama would allow beer sales at a football game though. We still have dry counties, so the sentiment against alcohol is still pretty strong.
