Ole Miss is ineligible for postseason. So they shouldn't have a line.

Does that mean that even if they win the West, they can't go to Atlanta? Pretty far-fetched, but technically possible. Just never thought of it. I suppose it does mean that they can't go there because the winner would pretty much automatically be in the playoffs.

I believe it does mean they cannot go. I'm not 100% sure though. I think a postseason bowl ban includes conference championship games. Maybe someone else can clarify.

I did some googling. Ohio State went 12-0 in 2012 and didn't play in the Big Ten championship game due to a bowl ban. I think fans call it a bowl ban, but the NCAA calls it a postseason ban.

The official title makes sense, as does the ban.

So if the Rebs want to play in Atlanta, they need the postseason ban overturned on appeal***

Yeah, it might not even be mathematically possible. **

They played there a few years ago when Boise State was on their downturn.
