They say they have the best passing offense in the conference.

South Carolina is not a good team.

Last year they had 207 total yards vs Clemson, Lost to KY at home, had 279 total yards vs A&M, 323 yards vs Tennessee, & 270 yards vs UGA.

Pretty much every time they played someone with a pulse, they couldn't move the ball.

I just don't buy them at all & think their record last year was a complete benefit of playing in the East

1. Ole Miss
2. Missouri

Everyone else.

Luckily that?s 1/5 the game.

Being in the east helps them but they are going to be a good team. They will beat OM

Just curious, but how would USCe even get on MSU radar for ‘18?

They’ve got an interesting schedule (if I were an SECE type cat), but wouldn’t 7-5 be a pretty good record for them???

SC is my pick to win the East. They had a ton of injuries last year and still won 9 games.

I think they have a pretty favorable schedule. I could see them getting 8-10 wins out of it honestly. I think Georgia and Clemson are their only sure losses but I can see Florida and Texas A&M as toss up games for them unless Tennessee is a lot better than I think they will be. If they can upset Georgia at home early in the year they could definitely be a surprise team.

Now- best passing offense in the SEC? I doubt it.

I hope SC upsets GA. Tired of GA's arrogant fans. The way they act you would think they've got Bama's hardware.

SC has a good team and could upset Georgia if the cards fall right. Except for QB, Georgia's key players from last year are gone.

They were 9-4 with a 5-2 conference record last year. That was better than us. If we played them in South Carolina we'd struggle to beat them this year

We would've beaten them by two touchdowns.

I watched a few of their games & they weren't good.

Remember they beat La Tech at home 17-16. They weren't good

We would boarder line blow South Carolina out this year. I'm not sure they score 14 points on our defense

I'm sorry if you can't see past record & actually evaluate to know what a good football team looks like.

Isn't that the game the R.A.T came in and threw like a 40 or 50 yard TD first play straight off the bench?

As lomg as they don't have some third string QB to come off the bench and throw 2 TDs/

Your football IQ is terrible. Have you even been to their stadium? It's in the top 3 loudest in the conference. Been there played there. We were the better team and we're beaten by their backup fresh off the bench.

Yep, SC is no joke at home.

They are basing everything on what they have coming back. What they have coming back lost to KY who we dicked slapped, lost to A@M who we dicked slapped and barely beat LA Tech 17 to 16 who we dicked slapped.

They were not that impressive last season. If they played in the West Last season they would have been a 500 team. If they played in the West this season, they would be a 500 team.

How many yards did we have vs Georgia?
Their QB and 2 top WR?s are very good, one was hurt all of last year but back this season
And beating Michigan in Bowl game was pretty impressive
They should be pretty good this year

The 2018 SECCG in Atlanta with be the Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. the University of South Carolina Gamecocks!

L. O. L.

That defense had 3 NFL starting DL, a 10 year starting MLB, 2 Playboy All American DB's and the Thorpe award runner up. He would struggle big time. This 2018 defense is talked about as the greatest ever yet we only have 2 players preseason 1st team ALL SEC. The last time we had 2 or more to be selected to 1st team selections was 2000 which had 3 players. Again, Fitz would be shut down by that team.

I didn't think you were serious. Mainly because that defense gave up 35 to Middle Tennessee State and gave up a ton of points in some other games- LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. That defense gave up 30+ to Florida and I think 28 to BYU. If you said 1999 I might have agreed. 1999 will probably still be the best defense we have ever had even after this year if I had to guess. I'd probably put our 1998 defense over the 2000 defense to be honest.

Pre-season stuff doesn't matter- and I know you don't have any other data to go from at this point. I would imagine that this defense will have it's share of hardware at the end of the year though. We could very well have two first round picks on it in Sweat and Simmons.

Fitz has a very good chance at becoming the best rushing QB in SEC history- and a lot of the guys on the 2000 defense had a lot of trouble with South Carolina running their QB straight up the gut in 2001. I know you love your boys. But I just don't see it.

So if the preseason doesn't matter what are you basing your argument on? I pointed out guys that were preseason AND played in the NFL afterwards. That defense was proven and ultra talented. The 2018 defense is all speculation based off talent. They didn't shut out anyone that suggests this year they'll go up 3 notches and become 1999 smothering. Also, SC didn't run a Qb up the middle in 2000. Your post says 2001 that's a totally different team.
