Mitch has been really good this year. He is a Gold Glove 1st baseman and is having a very productive year at the plate for the Red Sox.

Yes, Gold Glove two years ago and now All Star game. On a side note, 1B have dropped off dramatically at the plate. Raffy only had 4 All Star game appearances due to the log jam at 1st Base at the time.

Big thing that helps Mitch is that he isn't striking out as much as most of the guys now. He's on pace for like 110 but hell that's small in today's game.

Anybody remember Mitch running out from right field to slam the door on Clemson getting us to Omaha? What the 17 happened to Mitch by the way? been struggling with average for a while and now he goes to Boston and blows the 17 up. Congrats Mitch!!

I remember that save. It was awesome. If Dudy Noble had a roof the noise in the stadium would've blown it off when he came in from RF.
