The only way this lack luster hire will excite me is if he can pull sarloos to come to Starkville as our pitching coach! All the anxiety and then this lack luster hire busted me back down to earth! I would just like to know the reasoning. Hopefully this will be a home run hire and everything will work out. I hope the leash is short if the results ont start immediately!

So there's only one pitching coach in all of college baseball that would now be acceptable. Got it. That's not an over reaction at all

MSU baseball has ZERO national championships because we are run like the Cleveland Browns

You really think Cohen has a pitching coach lined up?

I admit. I can't even name the teams in the Big 10. How good is their baseball?

Really Clark?

Indiana under Smith in 2013 was the first team since MI in 1984 to make the CWS. MI was really good in the 70’s and 80’s

Mediocre and not a power conference. It's pretty impressive that Lemonis got into a Regional in 3 of his 4 years there.

Also, not to be a dick, but you really don't know who's in the big 10?

So he’s keeping the one elite coach we had on staff (Gautreau) and keeping all his other staff. I can dig it.

Yeah, I remember them now: Big 10, a conference with 14 members. I don't see a lot of baseball powerhouses on that map. Thanks, no offense taken. Outside of the SEC and especially State, I really don't care about them. Does the Big 12 still have 10 members? Math not a good subject for either conference!

I will say that it must be hard as hell to pull recruits to play baseball in a state that has freezing weather and snow half way through ball season! He must be doing something right.

Big 10 baseball teams are inconsistent when it comes to success. Minnesota is probably the best program historically speaking. They fluctuate from being like a 50 win team one year to being a 20 win team the next in some cases.

Pro baseball hurts them. If you live in Illinois are you going to watch the Cubs or the Fighting Illini? I think that's one reason why the SEC is so strong. It's easier to go to Dudy Noble than it is to go to Atlanta if you are from Mississippi. LSU is why Baton Rouge may never have a AA team even. Same thing on the west coast. And I think that's part of the reason why Georgia and Mizzou struggle in the SEC and don't have the support that some of the other schools have in the SEC.
