Bo Bounds tweeted out his name this morning. He isn't implying we're hiring him, but I just thought it was an interesting thought.

He was an assistant under McDonnell at Louisville before becoming the head guy at Indiana. At Indiana, he has a 137-87-2 (.611) record and has had a winning season all 4 years, making the tournament in 3 of them.

He's 44 years old and is making only $250,000 a year.

Not saying he's my top choice, but it's an interesting name I haven't seen mentioned a lot

Would be a good hire. He's made Indiana into the most consistent Big 10 baseball program.

I trust Cohen when he is just hiring the best coach & politics don't a play a part.

A Lemonis hire would actually show me that Cohen hired the best coach he could, &, as we've seen with the Moorhead hire, that has potential

Bo was also bringing up Arizona's coach J. Johnson as a possible hire and all I could think of was how Johnson ruined that pitchers arm in the 2016 post-season. That was the year they beat us in our own super regional, I can't remember how many pitches he threw, but it damaged his arm.
Chris Lemonis sounds like a good coach, all I'm saying is Bo doesn't keep up with baseball much.

Johnson signed an extension with Arizona recently so his name is out

Huh? Tracy smith won back-to-back big10 championships including a CWS. Lemonis' best big 10 finish is tied for 3rd with 2 6th place finishes and a 5th place finish

My bad, I thought Lemonis was the coach when they went to Omaha

I think every time someone types "Bo Bounds" it should come up asterisks- i.e., every other undesirable word.

What about Fullerton's VanderHook......pretty dang good coach, but not sure he would leave the west coast for Vegas.

He is a great coach, but Fullerton literally only has to recruit 1 county.

I just don't see him as the right fit.

With vanderhook you better hold people to 2 runs or under every night cause you ain’t gonna score many.

He actually does have some connection to the state. He spoke at the Easton clinic severa years ago mentioned it several times but I can't recall specifics. However, we ain't hiring him.

Yeah because Indiana is a baseball powerhouse. Tracy Smith 3 NCAA appearances in nine years and Lemonis 3 NCAA appearances in 4 years. The fact of the matter is Lemonis was McDonnell’s right hand man and helped build Louisville into what it is today. He was at Louisville from 2007-2014 and was Dan’s guy. If we did hire him, he would win big at MSU.

Bo is about as dialed in as David Johnson...

Somebody call Dan 17n Heefner and watch the balls start going over the fence and watch the championships start rolling in.

Yes. He would be a slam dunk. Especially all things considered.

If anyone actually listens to OBB show they will know Bo has no idea about football or baseball. He will talk good basketball every now and then. But he doesn?t know anything of the two previous sports just what his ?sources? know and the position he is in he should have some good ones.
