Terry is a good guy. He married Lee Perry. She is also an MSU grad and probably thinks the video is hilarious. They live around the Madison area. He and his family are good people. Karen Howell was not the reporter. I think the reporter (Megan Stewart) must have actually believed it because it most likely fit with her idea of stereotypical MSU fan.
