Okay...so here's the deal weather-wise. Right now in Omaha it is 73 degrees with the wind below 5 MPH going straight out towards RCF. The balls are gonna fly tonight if they're hit up.

It's going to stay like that for a long time tonight. So prepare yourselves for some big hits.

Actually the cooler temps cause the air to be more dense and thus more friction causes the ball to not carry as far...but yes the wind blowing out has the opposite effect

Just like a golf ball. And there's ball compression to consider too (more with a hotter ball, thus more travel).

No game tonight. Let's look ahead to tomorrow.

Winds are going to be lightly blowing in from RF tomorrow around 5 MPH.

I get the call but strange they called it so quickly. Figured we’d get an announcement at the conclusion of the first game.

What will the temp be at 10 A.M.? Hopefully the storms knocked a few degrees off

Predicted high tomorrow is 85 so heat shouldn't be much of a factor.

Announcers said this week the winds will start blowing out more. This will benefit the heavy hitting teams who depend on HRs a lot. Winds blowing in definitely help us. I wish they would blow in the rest of the CWS, but that's not what I'm hearing will happen. Our pitchers better learn to keep the ball down from here on out.
