College athletes competing in Division I football can participate in up to four games in a season without using a season of competition, the Division I Council decided this week at its meeting in Indianapolis.

Also... Beginning in October, Division I student-athletes will have the ability to transfer to a different school and receive a scholarship without asking their current school for permission.

I'm not so sure this one is good or not.

Redshirt KT but make him the backup if needed. Can play in 4 games.

Yep. This is huge for the QB position and to help coaches make better decisions about sitting guys with injuries.

Has to be stipulations here, like grad transfer or school has received sanctions (like OM). If not it just going to be a free for all!!

I'm pretty sure it's for Grad's, they were talking about it this morning on Bo Bounds.

It's just grads, bowl suspension, or head coach leaving I think.

Are you sure? I was under the impression this rule was for any student, regardless of the coaching/grad/etc. situation. They still have to sit out a year if they transfer, but a school can't keep a kid from transferring. Conferences are still allowed to have stricter policies, though, so we'll see what the SEC allows within the conference.

Saban is going to be pissed. He can't steal our recruits just to bench them anymore..

This!!!! Key can still get some good snaps in 4 games, yet have 3 years to play after Fitz leaves. That would be ****ing huge.
