Well, Mize isn't looking all that good. Florida hasn't scored yet [check that ... they just scored 2 and only one out], but they're hitting him well. He probably won't stay in at this rate.

He probably figured runs would be hard to come by on both sides and he had the 1:1 Pitching. A two or three run lead with him on the mound is usually pretty safe.

Yes they are... their coach shunned the bunt a few times vs om. I like playing aggressively. I'm not totally against bunting, but bunting early in the game is always dumb imo

No Will James. It's called managing the game based on the situation and the individual one on one match up. I'm not sure why a few of our fans don't understand this.

Maybe Auburn's number four hitter is hitting .100 vs. Singer with a ton of K's. Maybe Auburn's hitter just did it on his own. Maybe like BB said Butch felt like there weren't going to be a lot of runs scored so he played for one hoping that his first pick of the draft pitcher would shut them down. Actually, Omaha is big enough that there should be no shortage for the CWS. Getting near the stadium might be difficult. Metro is close to 1M.

Forget all that, tell me, Todd... how successfully did butch manage the situation? What was the final score? Sully is the best in the sec, and he didn't do that crap. Florida won the sec, and were last in the sec in sac bunts. His clean up, cleaned up. This is 2nd guessing either... called it dumb at the moment.

ETA... for the record, I'm not against all bunts. I like to bunt in certain situations. 1st and 2nd in the 3rd inning up 1 though is beyond dumb. Butch got throttled today and essentially told one of his best hitters he had no confidence in him

I think getting a hotel room is not a big problem, but as you say....near the stadium might require a tidy sum. Better prices in Council Bluffs IA it appears. Tickets will likely be the biggest issue unless you don't mind forking over hundreds to an exchange to get them. By UNC getting the bid earlier.....they just got a head start on everybody else. Will simply reduce the number of good ones for good prices available.

Oh and I just looked at the box score. Venter went 0-3 with 3K's against Singer today. The most productive thing he did was bunt. That tells me that either Butch or Venter knew he couldn't hit Singer and hence the bunt.
